Welcome to Our church!

A Note from Our Pastor

We hope you find this website a useful tool to learn more about our church family and ministry. More importantly, however, we hope you sense our sincere commitment to the Gospel of Christ and to living our faith day-by-day through God’s grace. We pray your visit extends beyond this website and that we’ll be able to meet you in person soon, whether for worship, for a tour of our facilities, or just to have a chat. We’d love to meet you and tell you more about the wonderful things God is doing at Good Shepherd.

What to Expect in Worship

Lutheran worship gathers people around the gospel, the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ. In our services, we follow a pattern of worship called “liturgy.” This pattern focuses us on the gospel as we confess our sins and receive God’s forgiveness, pray together, hear God’s Word, and share Holy Communion. We also make use of our members’ talents in art and music to beautify worship with a variety of symbols and singing.

When you arrive, someone will greet you. We’ll get you a bulletin (the printed order of worship) and help you find a seat if you wish. There are also screens at the front with the order of service on them. Look for the pastor; he’ll be around to greet you too and to answer any questions you might have. Sunday mornings or Monday nights, you’ll find people dressed in all sorts of ways, expressing both their desire to respect God and His Word and to be comfortable as they worship.

Bring your children!

Kids quickly pick up how we worship, and there’s nothing better than that. God has blessed our church with many children, so you won’t be the only one with kids. However, we understand that it can be somewhat daunting to bring kids to church. If a child needs a break for any reason, there is a nursery/cry room available, or they can burn off a little energy in the hallway.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

Romans 8:28
