The end of the world is a topic that has especially fascinated American religion over the last century and become popular within the entertainment industry.  So, what is fact and what is fiction? What about all those strange things in the book of Revelation? What can we expect leading up to and at the end of the world? Let’s look to the Bible to better understand what God tells us about the end of the world.

December 4, 11, and 18
"Worth the Wait" Mid-Week Advent Services at 6:30pm

How good are you at waiting?  Waiting can be difficult especially during this time of year as anticipation builds towards Christmas gifts, guests, parties and vacation.  The theme for our midweek Advents services is based on the beautiful hymn, “My Soul in Stillness Waits.” The emphasis for each of the services is taken from the verses of that hymn: my soul waits for the Lord of Light, the Spring of Joy, and the Root of Life.  Just as God’s Old Testament people waited for the fulfillment of the promised Messiah, so we celebrate the fulfillment of that promise in the birth of Christ and wait for Christ to come again at the end of time. Take this time each week (35 minute devotional services) for your family to be refreshed and refocused on the Savior for whom God’s people wait.

December 8

December 22
Children's Christmas Service at 9:00am
"See What Great Love"

The children of our Good Shepherd Sunday School share the message of God’s love in giving his Son Jesus to rescue the world from sin.  This powerful story of God’s love begins with a promise is fulfilled in the baby of Bethlehem and is for all people. Through narration, recitation of Scripture and song, we come to praise and worship the Savior who came to bring God’s love to us.

December 24
Christmas Eve Worship at 6:30pm
"For God So Loved the World"

The words of John 3:16 are some of the most well-known words in all of the Bible.  Even those who have rarely stepped foot in a church might recognize them, “For God so loved the world…”  But the love described in this single verse is foreign to our world. It is a heart transforming and eternally life-altering type of love that can only come from God.  Come, and once again be amazed at the love that God has shown to our world in the form of a baby born in Bethlehem. This worship service will be filled with beautiful Christmas music, and a relevant message that shows what God’s love means for us and our world.

December 25
Christmas Day Festival Worship at 9:00am
"God's Love in Lessons & Carols"

The day of Christ’s birth is certainly worthy of our celebration!  This festival worship service will give us opportunity to trace the story of God’s saving love from its inception in the Garden of Eden to its fulfillment in Bethlehem.  This service will use Scripture readings and familiar Christmas song to reawaken us to the power of God’s saving love in Christ Jesus.
